Stereotyping
Stereotyping created by those showing an incorrect judgement of a possibility by making people into stereotypes. Everyone gain wealth differently. What brought wealth? There are many sources of gaining wealth. There are many who are more highly educated but not wealthy because they are using their talents for different purposes than gaining materalistic purposes. Many have great jobs, great education, even great stewardship and hard work. The bottom line in putting all of them together is this: Spiritual stewardship is looking at my financial situation and to look at my life spiritually in from God's perspectives rather than from flesh perspectives. Are we really hungry and thirsty for Him or we have this mere superficial desire to be filled by the world's pleasures? Are we "envying" through superficial searching God for fulfillment of our fleshy desires rather than deeper searching for God from the heart as "after God's own heart"?
My father warned each of my 8 brothers and sisters that "materialistic wealth" should not be our heart's desires but rather our happiness that God provides according to His will regardless what positions we are in. God knows beforehand what we will need and He will provide beforehand according to His will. There's a right time and way for everything.
The bottom line, regardless of how one got their wealth, health or status, no matter "what" you have, the key is knowing "WHO" you are "inside" as Christ see you. James reminded us in Chapter 2 how we are not to "compare" others of "what" they have but rather of "who" they are inside. As Jesus rebuked to a group in Matthew 23:25 ".........You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence."
We are to our bodies as living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God that we will not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by renewing of our minds with the Word of God. In a life of righteousness, good works and separation unto God from the evil ways of the world (Rom 12:1- 2), manifested by speaking the truth (James 5:12), maintaining the sanctity of the home (Eph. 5:22-6:4) settling differences between Christians in accordance with the Word of God (I Cor. 6:1-8), not engaging in carnal strife but showing a Christ-like attitude toward all (Rom. 12:7-21), exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23), and maintaining a life of prayer (Eph. 6:18; Phil. 4:6).
