Understand God when I pray.........................
God always answer my prayer. ALWAYS. Do I like some of His answers? Nope just like I didn't like my parents' answers when I was a kid. God does promise that He will answer my prayers but His answers can vary and often I missed His true answers. God does not always say yes to every prayer even though I expect Him to do so.
The cause of failure is not my failure but rather, there other reasons why God chose to wait because He has a plan according to His will. Often He will give the promised powerful and compensating grace (Sufficient of Grace). When God provides me His Grace in my life, I am learning that God does answer in a different way so that His plan will be accomplished through our lives. The answer may not be the one you like or accept but God will give it to you anyway. I have LEARNED that God will delay the answers because He has something better for us than what we have asked (John 11:1-6; Luke 5:1-16; Luke 8:40-56). I also have learned that God may be witholding in order to do special work that He have placed us according to His plan and will (2 Corinthians 12:7-10).
I also remember that God knows before I ask because He is ALMIGHTY God. Romans 8:26 says that "The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for".
Anyway, we are so focused to do according to OUR wishes and OUR will rather than according to God's will in our lives. When we pray, we should be doing this:
"Lord, I am transferring my will to you and follow your will".
We have to remember the following verses from the BIBLE.
Romans 8:28-29 "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them."
In Proverbs 16:9 We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.
Proverbs 16:33 The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.
Proverbs 20:24 How can we understand the road we travel? It is the LORD who directs our steps.
Jeremiah 10:23 I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps.
A. I often question myself, "Is there a question about God's character or His power in my life?" The more I know God's character and attributes, the more I trust His Word and His promises from His perspective. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. God's Character and His Sovereign regarding what is best for HIS Glory. All words applies in the Word of God such as healing, His coming back and all blessings. When you look at God's time, we CAN'T comprehend but we have faith in His decisions.
B. "Prayer Request" sometimes has to do with "self-desire". This is what people think about.... its their own self they think about. We are to give our bodies to God because we have an eternal future. Our bodies are decaying and God gave us His promise of eternal life. We keep focusing on physical more than spiritual.
C. In my own life, I want to be healed but I am NOT to let "God didn't answer my prayers" get in the way because I am thinking eternal sense rather than temporal. God is renewing me from within "in spirit". Everything of lasting value in my life is unseen and eternal which I have learned a GREAT deal in the last 5 years. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, BELONGS to God.
D. My biggest joy is this: Even though my human body is subject to death (and is dying) because of sin, however my spirit is alive and renewing in Christ. My temorary body is decaying at the same time, my inner being is being renewed day by day (2 Cor 4:16). "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." Galatians 5:25. If my eternal hope rested on how I felt physically, which is temporal, I might as well forget eternal spiritual wealth. I have learned that I am no longer "in the flesh": "You are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him" (Rom 8:9). I have learned that "If Christ is in us, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness" (Romans 8:10). In other words, our human body is subject to death (and is already dying) because of sin, however our spirit is alive in Christ. We have eternal life in our possession, even though our body is dying because of sin. However, as Christians, our spirits are fully alive and thriving "because of righteousness"--because HE is justified and therefore already has "passed out of death into life" (John 5:24). "My temorary body is decaying at the same time, my inner being is being renewed day by day" (2 Cor 4:16).
